Frequently Asked Questions
- You can upload PNG, JPG, WebP, HEIC, and GIF files up to 5 MB. Common use cases include photos of handwritten notes, whiteboard diagrams, screenshots of documents, and scanned pages.
- Your image is sent to Google Gemini 2.5 Flash, a multimodal AI that can read and understand visual content. It extracts all text and structure from the image and converts it to clean, well-formatted Markdown.
- Images are sent directly to the Gemini API for processing and are not stored on our servers. Refer to Google's privacy policy for how Gemini handles API inputs.
- The AI outputs headings (##, ###), bullet and numbered lists, bold/italic text, inline code, fenced code blocks, and blockquotes — matching the structure visible in your image.
- Currently one image per conversion. For multi-page documents, consider scanning to PDF and using the PDF to Markdown tool instead.
- Gemini streams its response token by token, so you see results appear in real time rather than waiting for the full response. This makes it feel faster and lets you read as it generates.
